Different Signs of Depression

Generally people are not aware that they suffer from depression, it can be confusing for them, and most of them are not aware of its seriousness. It is fast becoming a serious ailment for the society because people don’t find anything wrong with the way they think and see things. If it is not treated properly and as soon as possible it can be a life threatening disease.

When suffering from depression people don’t want to be aware of anything that is normal and are on guard all the time waiting for anything wrong to happen. Different people show different signs of depression like some don’t eat properly, i.e. they may eat too much or too less. Their sleeping patterns also might change resulting in restlessness while sleeping or sleeping for long hours. The person suffering from depression can experience sudden mood swings. The person may get irritated over small issues and might even react violently. In case of children they may become crybabies, complaining about everything around them. Unexplained pains in different body parts can be another symptom of depression.

Depression these days are becoming very common among children. The child may become lethargic, and might not be able to do even daily chores properly. They might shy away from social activities and might isolate themselves even from their family members. They even stop doing activities they used to enjoy earlier. A major symptom can be a decline in their academic records. Sometimes depression could even lead to violent behavior like getting into frequent fight with their friends over small issues. Clinical Depression

There are many types of depression and clinical depression is one of them and it is a very serious illness. It has symptoms like deep sadness and despair that troubles our daily life and causes many problems. A doctor best treats this depression and natural methods might be ineffective. Severe depression can be also of many forms and can also include Bipolar Disorder, which, is also known as Manic Depression. Another severe mental problem is Schizophrenia. This treatment id carried out by putting electrodes on the scalp of the person and electric pulses are passed through the electrodes and this is known as shock therapy. This sends severe vibrations and can cause panic and shock in the patient so this procedure needs to be carefully monitored by a physician. The person might faint an become unconscious and wake up after a while and might not remember anything about the whole procedure. This treatment should not be carried out for al long period of time and should be used after some interval of time.

Causes of Depression

Depression is fast becoming a household name. Every one in three persons seem to be suffering from depression and the numbers seem to be increasing by the day. Depression is also taking its toll on the economics, physical and mental state of the people as it drains their bodies physically and mentally fighting depression and also causes economic loss in the form of expenditure for medicines and other remedies. So the best way to fight the problem is to eliminate the root cause of depression, which can be done successfully if we know the reasons or factors causing it.

Depression can be caused by many factors like family problems, work pressure, a hectic lifestyle or just any sort of expectations. So the best way to counter it is to keep our expectations as low as possible so that every event comes as a pleasant surprise and brings happiness. Depression is so common these days because we are not giving our bodies time to relax and rejuvenate and are working like machines till we don’t feel exhausted.
